I had to smile when I first immersed myself into the book “The Typefaces” from Scott Lambert. Simple and creative with passion for the details of individual typefaces.
The large format, hardcover book includes a telling introductory quote, “A book for the designer in every child and the child in every design”.
Typefaces are presented in a playful format, each with their own story, triggering my imagination as to what else lies behind the type. The book is original and playful, using ABC’s of typography, some which date as far back as 1768. It engages young readers while revealing the personalities of the typefaces for experienced designers.
